Debby Wood shared Kristy Halladay's favorite hymn today for the Music Appreciation. We sang the 1st verse of "Families Can Be Together Forever" which makes Kristy cry every time (even while playing it!) since it reminds her of the time she and Shaun were sealed to their kids in the temple as a forever family. Marietta Sperry did a wonderful job in presenting lesson #33 - "The Spiritual Gifts of Healing, Tongues, Prophecy, and Discerning of Spirits". There were many personal examples and testimonies shared about these gifts being real and tangible in our lives today. The lesson manual's story about the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. healing Bro. Elijah Fordham was moving and powerful. We got a good chuckle from the description of him rising from his deathbed (pg. 381) and kicking off the poultices on his feet "scattering the contents" like so many men we know would do. :) We've all been given different gifts so that we may act as a whole unit to bless each other. There are not any 'lesser' gifts, they are all equally part of the whole. Thank you to each of you that help us be a stronger unit with your gifts.
